The excitment of the children really makes this a magic time and it was nice to have Santa Claus stop and talk to each person and hand them a silver bell. Santa will appear and gives the first gift of Christmas and each person receives a beautiful silver bell from Santa's sleigh. But with knowledge of the story really does make it special.

You really do not need to be a fan of the story or movie to really enjoy the train ride or the theme to believe. Music and entertainment made the trip a lot of fun. Not much to see there and the animal areas are very sparse. The Loose Caboose is advertised as something to get excited about but was a let-down when we arrived. We will be back to Santa Paula on our own to look around when we have more time. We had lunch and had to immediately head back to the train for the ride back. Santa Paula was a nice stop but we didn't have enough time to look around. I pulled up my speedometer app and the fastest we went was about 10 mph the slowest was so slooooow that it didn't even register on my app. There was no entertainment on board so although the scenery was nice, I didn't need to see it as such a slow speed. The train ride is about 9 miles but takes about an hour?!? I know it's not a bullet train but we weren't expecting such a slow, long ride over. I found this opportunity through the Santa Clarita city web site and thought we'd give it a try. We were looking for something different to do for our Valentine's Day weekend.
